We're a two room guest house, not a data company. We collect only what we need to host you, and we never sell it.

Who we are
SIGEYRA is a guest house in Sigiriya, Sri Lanka, run by Nadun Vishwanath, Thennakoon Road, Ehalagala, Sigiriya 21120. We're responsible for the personal information described here. You can reach us at stay@sigeyra.com or on WhatsApp at +94 75 268 6923.
This website
The site has no cookies, no analytics and no ads. There are no forms that send information to us. The booking and message forms only open WhatsApp or your email app with a message filled in, and nothing is sent until you press send there.
Two outside services are involved when you use it:
- Google Fonts. Your browser loads our fonts from Google, which sees your IP address. See Google's privacy policy.
- Our web host, Cloudflare, handles standard technical data such as your IP address to deliver the site and keep it secure. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
What we collect when you book or ask
- Contact details
- Name, phone or WhatsApp, email
- Your stay
- Dates, guests, requests, dietary needs
- Payment
- Payment records
- At check-in
- Passport or ID details
We use it to answer you, hold your room, arrange pick ups and tours you ask for, and take payment. We keep a guest register with passport or ID details, as Sri Lankan law requires. We don't ask for anything else.
We don't take card payments. For bank transfers we keep only the transfer record.
Who else sees it
- WhatsApp (Meta) and our email provider carry our messages.
- Drivers and tour guides you ask us to book get your name, phone number and pick up details, nothing more.
- Authorities, where Sri Lankan law requires it (for example the guest register).
- If you book through Booking.com or Agoda, they share your booking with us and their own privacy policies apply too.
We don't sell your information or share it for marketing.
How long we keep it
Messages and booking details: 2 years after your stay, so we can help if you come back or have a question. Payment records and the guest register: as long as Sri Lankan law requires. Then we delete them.
Your rights
Under Sri Lanka's Personal Data Protection Act, No. 9 of 2022, and laws like the GDPR if you live in the EU or UK, you can ask us to:
- show you what we hold about you
- correct it
- delete it, unless the law says we must keep it
- stop using it for anything you didn't ask for
Email stay@sigeyra.com and we'll reply within 7 days. If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to Sri Lanka's Data Protection Authority or the regulator where you live.
Photos
We never post photos of guests without asking first. If you tag us or send us a photo, we'll still ask before sharing it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. We won't use information we already have in a new way without telling you.
Stay 3 km from the rock
A boutique guest house in Sigiriya, 3 km from the rock. Two A/C rooms with king size beds, a mini refrigerator and a verandah onto the forest. Book one room, or take the whole guest house.
